Corona del Mar Real Estate

Corona Del Mar is a neighborhood within the Newport Beach city limits consisting of the coastal communities just north of Laguna and Newport. Some of the most beautiful beaches along the coast are located along this stretch of coast. It is a quiet town with a competitive school district and beautiful natural attractions. There are many annual events for the family to enjoy such as the Scenic 5K, Coastline Car Classic, and Christmas Walk.

There are only a few beaches technically located in Corona Del Mar, Corona Del Mar Beach and Crystal Cove State Park. These beaches are generally populated by local residents, as the tourists flock to the shores of Laguna. Each of the beaches in Corona Del Mar can be reached by heading down the steep cliffs overlooking the water, and are hotspots for daytime barbequing.

The Crystal Cove State park is one of the best areas for hiking and riding in Orange County. The trails range from intermediate to difficult, but welcome riders of all levels. The open grasslands remind visitors that southern California is essentially a desert, but still green and beautiful.

The Sherman Library and Gardens are located on 2.2 acres and dubbed a “horticultural retreat.” This garden is a preservation research location with immaculate gardens and conservatories connected by pathways. They provide educational tours, as well as various classes on gardening and floral arrangements.

The real estate market in this area of Orange County stays relatively steady with price drops in the late summer months for family homes. As is true with all of Orange County, the market seems to be approaching a balance, and is expected to level out in the coming months. This is a great time to make an investment in the area.

Poverty level, crime, and school districts are huge factors in the housing market. Corona Del Mar is one of the safest neighborhoods in the area, and has not shown signs of declining since it was settled in the 1920’s. Though it is a small area, there are about 200 properties on the market right now.

In comparison to the rest of Southern California, this lovely beachfront neighborhood did not take as hard of a hit, so any dip in the market is a huge advantage for buyers. The next few months should prove to be a very profitable time to buy in this area, regardless of your intent with the property. Homes seem to be a reliable option here, as there are many families, but the market in condominiums has the most advantageous prices in this real estate climate.
