Newport Beach Real Estate

One of the most beautiful areas of Orange County is Newport Beach. With it’s beautiful beachfront properties, and elegant homes, its no wonder that people from all over the country have heard of this small neighborhood and flock to its shores. Newport Beach is famed for its high rankings among the U.S.’s best places to live. It is an average-size beach community just north of Dana Point. One of the main attractions in the Newport Beach area is the 3-mile long Balboa Island, known as the Peninsula.

Another popular activity in Newport Beach is whale-watching. Newport Landing offers prime seats for watching the creatures of the sea frolic about. The Pacific Ocean boasts killer whales, bottlenose dolphins, and dozens of species of sharks, so you are sure to be fascinated by a day out at sea. You can take the ferry to the tip of the peninsula where you will find shops, restaurants, and a small beach amusement park with arcades, a carousel and a Ferris Wheel. The southernmost coast boasts a popular and challenging body boarding spot called “The Wedge.”

There are many tourist destinations in this area of Newport Beach, but during the winter season it is packed with locals enjoying the cool weather with their families. Combined with the beautiful homes, safe neighborhoods, and top-notch school district, Newport Beach is a beautiful place to live, or even own a property.

In April, CNNmoney.com stated that the California housing market did not have much further to fall, and in the coming months we expect to see it level out significantly. The NY Times says that first-time homebuyers with decent credit can miss a rare opportunity to purchase a home at a great value if they sit on their savings much longer.

There are over 600 properties available in Newport Beach, and if you’re a buyer, the market is certainly in your favor. Banks are checking and double-checking every bit of paperwork to make sure their offers are in line with the market’s trends. In Newport Beach, properties have fallen as far as 25% from their highest values in 2006.

Simply put, buyers in today’s real estate market have the power. If you are thinking about buying in the next few months, it is important to check out your credit score, and perhaps tuck those credit cards away until you get your mortgage rates. With the market at an all-time low, a credit score in the 700’s can help you afford a home you might never be able to afford again.
